Last night in Spanish Cinema Now, I had the opportunity of watching Blancanieves, directed by Pablo Berger. It is so beautyful that it almost hurts. I wish it gets all the awards and the success it deserves. It is a movie full of love and braveness. The director is a modest man who invested 8 years to make this wonderful film. They call him crazy, but now, there is one more master piece in film history to be seen over and over. Thanks Pablo, and congratulations…

Ayer en el Spanish Cinema Now en Nueva York, tuve ocasión de ver Blancanieves, de Pablo Berger. Duele de lo bonita que es. Totalmente brillante. Ojalá reciba todos los premios del mundo. Es una película que destila amor y valentía. Y su director Pablo Berger, un tipo sencillo que invirtió 8 años de su vida para que esta maravilla viera la luz. Muchos le llamaron loco, pero ahora hay una obra maestra más en las estanterías de cine que se seguirá disfrutando durante muchísimos años. Gracias Pablo, y enhorabuena…

It is a tradition for me to go to the Spanish Cinema Now every December. They screen the best of the Spanish Cinema of the year in the Lincoln Center (New York).
That’s why I’m so excited to have Voice Over selected for this festival. The screening will be on Sunday 9th at 2 pm. Details and tickets here.

Ya es una tradición para mi cada diciembre en Nueva York, ir a ver la mejor selección de cine español actual al Lincoln Center dentro del festival Spanish Cinema Now.

This week in New York, Voice Over was screened in this film and commercial Festival, One Screen, and we won Best of the Show. We are really happy and thankful for the awards, but more important for the reaction of the people when they see our short film.

Esta semana en Nueva York, se pasó Voice Over en este festival de cine y publicidad, One Screen, dónde ganamos el gran premio del certamen. Estamos encantados y muy agradecidos con tantos galardones, pero más aún con la reacción de la gente que está disfrutando nuestro corto…

Last days (until Hurricane Sandy forced us to stop), I’ve been shooting with Carlos Garcia, and like the rest of times we have worked together, I finished with the same feeling: great work and we had a good time. Carlos is a great DP and even better person. Hope that Sandy let us finish this project soon!

Estos dias (hasta que el huracán Sandy nos obligó a parar), he estado rodando con Carlos Garcia, y como cada vez que rodamos juntos, siempre tengo la misma sensación: gran trabajo y encima lo pasamos muy bien. Carlos es un gran director de fotografía y mejor persona. Espero que Sandy nos deje acabar el rodaje pronto!

We have been shooting for Kendall-Jackson these days. They are the number 1 brand of wines in the US. It was a super fun shooting, shared with all the amazing people from the agency Global Works. The shooting will continue this week in San Francisco. There, Fran Guijarro will be directing. It’s a pleasure to share projects with such a great people…

It’s been 5 years since I first came to NY with my bag filled of hope and a bit of fear. I came thinking to stay only for a year (two like maximum), but after 5, I’m still here, really grateful for all the opportunities and lessons that I have lived (and I will live).

Hoy hace justo 5 años que llegué a NY con la bolsa llena de ilusiones y algún que otro miedo. Vine pensando en estar sólo un año. Dos a lo máximo, pero después de 5, aquí sigo, encantado con todas las oportunidades y las lecciones vividas y por vivir.

For a basketball lover like me, today is a nice day. Spain playing the final against the US and getting closer to win… In New York, of the most exciting places to see great “street basketball” is in the court of West 4th. Really amazing!

Para un amante del baloncesto como yo hoy es un día bonito. España jugó la final de la Olimpiada contra EEUU y se quedo cerca de la victoria… En Nueva York uno de los sitios que más me gusta para ir a ver baloncesto callejero es la pista de West 4th. Es alucinante!
