Last week, Juantxu, our agent was in NYC, and we really had a lot of fun around the city. Juantxu is the founder of Gosua, one of the best actors/directors agencies in Spain. We are really thankful for his support and we feel really confident being represented by him.

La semana pasada Juantxu, nuestro representante estuvo en Nueva York. Disfrutamos mucho su visita. Juantxu es el fundador de Gosua, una de las agencias más potentes de representación de actores y directores en España. La verdad es que estamos encantados con su apoyo y nos encontramos muy cómodos y seguros siendo representados por él.

Yesterday we were seeing the end of the marathon in New York from a terrace of my very good friend Jorge Peralta. His house has the best views of Central Park in the city. Thanks so much, Jorge. Next year I will be running out there!

Ayer estuve viendo el final de la maratón de Nueva York desde la terraza de mi buen amigo Jorge Peralta. Su casa tiene las mejores vistas de Central Park de la ciudad. Gracias mil, Jorge. El año que viene correré la maratón.

When you are 4,000 miles away from home you miss your family a lot. In New York I have a group of close friends that help to relieve that feeling, and with not doubt, Inaki and Hazel are one of the most important in that sense.

Both are working as Creative Directors for the Advertisement Agency Global Works. They are super fun, intelligent and very generous. They became my adoptive family in the US. Many good moments to share. Thanks for everything, guys!

Cuando estás a 6.000 Km de casa, no hay nada que se eche más de menos que a la familia. En Nueva York, hay un grupo de personas que ayudan a aliviar ese sentimiento, y sin duda Iñaki y Hazel son de los más importantes en ese sentido.

Los dos trabajan como directores creativos para la agencia Global Works. Son muy divertidos, inteligentes y tremendamente generosos. Se han convertido en mi familia adoptiva a este lado del Atlántico. Muchos buenos ratos por compartir. Gracias por todo, chicos!

I would like to share with you this piece. The DoP Paul Lilley created this video for The Camara Crewing Company, which specializes in high speed cinematography, demonstrating the versatility and creativity of the Phantom HD Gold.
The Pantom HD Gold can record up to 1000 frames per second with an HD (1920×1080) or 2K (2048×1536) resolution, it has al 14-bit depth sensor and uses 35mm lenses.
Hopefully, I’ll soon have the oportunity to test this amazing camara.

Today I had a wonderful Sunday in NY. I met a lot of great people and among them, one of the best commercial directors ever: Simon Bross. He is incredible. Really passionate, creative and a lot of fun. he took this picture of us with his new iPhone. Thanks Simon.

Last week I was in LA, and a good friend of mine introduced me Enjuto Mojamuto, a very fun TV series created by Muchachada Nui. I could not stop laughing! The only bad thing is that for the moment it is just in Spanish.

La semana pasada estuve en LA y un buen amigo me introdujo a las apasionantes aventuras de Enjuto Mojamuto. Es una serie divertidísima creada por Muchachada Nui, y quería compartirla con todos. Lo único malo es que por ahora sólo está en español.

A few days ago I had the opportunity of shooting some commercials for Global Hue, one of the biggest Advertisement Agencies in US. It was a lot of fun working with all of them, and I am really proud of the result. Besides, I had the opportunity of editing the commercials in Cosmostreet, with Bernardo Revilla, who made a great work. I looking forward to repeat the experience.

Hace unos días, tuve la oportunidad de rodar unos spots para Global Hue, una de las agencias de publicidad más grandes de USA. Me lo pasé genial trabajando con ellos y además el resultado fue muy chulo. Por si fuera poco, tuve la suerte de editar los spots en Cosmostreet, con Bernardo Revilla, un editor español que lleva muchos años por aquí y que hizo un trabajo impresionante. Estoy deseando repetir experiencia.

Many times has happened to me that someone after watching our films told us: “you are such an artist”, and I looked down denying ashamed like an ostrich; well that won’t happen to me again, because now it is the Government of United States that gave me an Artist Visa…haha Just kidding. The truth is that I am really happy with this opportunity and I will do my best during these 3 years working hard in order to follow my dreams. Signed: An Artist!

Muchas veces me ha pasado que alguien después de ver nuestros trabajos nos ha dicho: “sois unos artistas”, y yo bajaba la cabeza avergonzado como una avestruz; bien, pues eso no volverá a suceder, porque ahora es el mismísimo gobierno americano el que me ha concedido el visado de artista…jeje Era broma, lo que sí es cierto es que estoy super contento por esta oportunidad, e intentaré aprovechar al máximo estos 3 años para trabajar duro en seguir cumpliendo sueños. This year I wanted to have a very American Fourth of July, so following the super fun Guillermo Fesser’s book, I decided to go One thousand miles out of Manhattan, until Rhinebeck. There I enjoyed the fireworks with the soundtrack of the movie Superman, but mostly observing to all Americans living that glorious moment with goose bumps. it was their moment…

Este año decidí que quería vivir un 4 de julio auténtico, así que dejándome guiar por el magnífico libro de Guillermo Fesser, acabé A Cien millas de Manhattan, en Rhinebeck. Allí pude disfrutar de los fuegos artificiales a ritmo de la banda sonora de la película Superman, mientras todos los americanos tenían los pelos como escarpias. Era su momento…

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity of sharing set with Iciar Aragon. She was the DP of the short film Colors, which I directed. It was amazing working with her, because she is really passionate and creative with her work. She suggested me many different looks for the film until we both agreed with the one that would fit better with the story. I really believe that Iciar will have a great future as a DP in Spain, US, or whatever country she decides to work in, because it is not usual to find someone with that level of commitment and devotion.

We shot Colors in 4 days in a Cemetery in New York, with the RED ONE. Pepe Salcedo will be the editor of this short film, that will start going to film festivals next fall. Hopefully it will have a successful round in them.

Hace unas semanas tuve la suerte de compartir set con Iciar Aragon. Ella fue la directora de fotografía de Colors, un cortometraje dónde yo fui el director. Fue genial trabajar con ella, porque tiene pasión y talento en su trabajo. Me hizo un montón de propuestas para el look del corto, hasta que ambos nos decidimos por apostar por  el que vendría mejor a la historia. Estoy convencido que Iciar tendrá una brillante carrera como directora de fotografía en España, US, o cualquier país dónde decida trabajar, porque no es habitual encontrar gente con su nivel de compromiso y entrega.

Rodamos Colors durante 4 días en un cementerio en Nueva York, con la RED ONE. Pepe Salcedo será el editor de este corto que esperamos vea la luz este otoño para empezar la ronda de festivales. Seguro que lo hace muy bien.
